STINT International Postdoc
The aim of the programme is to enhance the quality of Swedish research and higher education by giving researchers who have recently obtained their PhDs the opportunity to pursue a postdoctoral research project at an institution abroad. Participating postdocs are thus offered the chance to experience new academic environments, become more independent and extend their international networks.
There are two versions of the programme:
- STINT International Postdoc for outbound postdocs
- STINT International Postdoc in Sweden for inbound postdocs
STINT International Postdoc is aimed at researchers who have obtained their PhDs at higher education institutions in Sweden no more than two years before the application deadline, or who are scheduled to defend their PhDs within a year of the application deadline. The stay abroad should offer the postdoctoral researcher new experience from a higher education institution located outside the EU/EFTA/UK and cannot be spent in a country from which the stipend holder has a previous academic degree or citizenship.
STINT International Postdoc in Sweden is aimed at research leaders at Swedish higher education institutions who want to invite postdoctoral researchers who have obtained their PhDs at higher education institutions located outside the EU/EFTA/UK no more than two years before the application deadline, or who are scheduled to defend their PhDs within a year of the application deadline. The aim of the programme is to establish new patterns of collaboration and broaden recruitment to Swedish academia. The applying research leader and the inbound postdoc may therefore not hold academic degrees from the same country.
STINT International Postdoc and STINT International Postdoc in Sweden are individual stipends of SEK 1 000 000 for a postdoctoral stay at least one year in length. An additional contribution of SEK 100 000 per family member may be awarded for up to two accompanying family members, to a maximum total stipend amount of SEK 1.2 million.
The postdoctoral project should start in the year after the application deadline, but no earlier than 1 July. The postdoctoral stay must be for a sustained period and cannot be divided into shorter stays.
Applications are written in English and submitted through STINT’s application system.
This call closes on 13 September 2024 at 15:00 (CEST).
