STINT has submitted its consultation response to the interim report on the government assignment to promote responsible internationalisation in higher education, research, and innovation collaborations.
STINT welcomes the report and appreciates the efforts of the Swedish Council for Higher Education, the Swedish Research Council, and Sweden’s innovation agency Vinnova. STINT is of the opinion that the report provides a good basis for further discussion and development of strategies to ensure that international partnerships are both responsible and sustainable.
The consultation response gives an account of STINT’s views on:
– The need to develop the definition of the concept responsible internationalisation
– The need to create a culture of responsible internationalisation at higher education institutions and supporting organisations
– The need for new knowledge and trend analysis
STINT established the concept responsible internationalisation in its current sense in Sweden in 2020 and has addressed these issues for a long time. The focus is on ensuring that international collaborations remain an important part of Swedish higher education institutions’ activities, thereby creating good conditions for quality research and education while managing the risks and problems that may arise in international contexts in a balanced manner.
