In this webinar, Dr Niklas Z Kviselius, STINT’s representative in North America, will guide you through a newly published STINT-report on Canada. In Canada, there are clear indications of a strengthening of the research and innovation system, with increased investments in both basic and applied research. One stated aim is diversification, with Canada looking for new international research partnerships.
Emphasis is on giving an outside observer and potential future collaboration partner some familiarity with the Canadian system. Key federal actors are introduced, as well as some of the most influential provincial actors in four major provinces. The current focus of and public sector direction for the Canadian science and innovation system is laid out, and recent trends are presented.
The aim of this report and webinar is to spur an interest in international collaboration based on the strengths and challenges Canadian research funding actors have identified and are working on. We are looking forward to an active discussion as to the evolving opportunities Sweden can identify in collaboration with Canada.
